One Day Guide to Dumaguete City

Dumaguete is hip, cool, and laid back. The city’s boulevard is my favorite college professor’s favorite strolling place. To me, Dumaguete is not just the hip university city that it is, it is also an extension of Siquijor because my grandpa used to work here and we would come here to visit him when school was off. It is easy to explore the small city in a day and hop on to another destination after the sun sets. If you only have one day in Dumaguete, then read on for my recommendations.

Where to Stay in Cebu: Paragon Suites

Last August, my sister’s friend invited her to stay at Paragon Suites as she has booked for an extra day she won’t be using. My sister dragged us with her, and because we loved our stay on the first day, we booked for another day. I have passed by the Paragon Suites building countless of times but has never considered staying there, mostly because it was far from where we were staying. But… our stay there was great and there were some things I thought I should share why you should consider staying at Paragon Suites in your next visit to Cebu (probably in the 2017 Sinulog?).

Weekend Guide to Bohol, Philippines

I always drop by Tagbilaran City in Bohol on my way to Siquijor when I'm taking the long trip via boat. But I would only have two hours and my destination would always be the same -- Buzz Cafe at Galeria Luisa to buy dinner and eat ice cream, and buy lipstick at Watsons in the same mall. I have only toured our neighbouring island twice, and every time felt like the island was not for me. But this year, 2017, I was able to visit Bohol twice, and here is my guide to a weekend in the island province.

One Day Guide to Visita Iglesia in Siquijor

Siquijor is a pretty small island that you can tour on a day (or half a day if you don't stop over). Like many small towns in the Philippines, Siquijor is composed mainly of Roman Catholics although I must say that there are a lot of other religions practiced in the island, including Aglipayan, Protestantism, Jehovah's Witness, Iglesia ni Christo, Adventist. The most popular tour in the island would the the Visita Iglesia, not only for Catholics but for anyone, mostly because the island's churches are not just a symbolism of a religion but also the symbolism of the island's history.
