Check-in was a breeze. We made a reservation the day before through telephone. We were going to buy a room via Agoda.com, but my husband’s EON card could not be processed. I still need to ask customer service about this because Agoda seems to be constantly refusing the EON card, but easily accepts BDO cards. (Another story.).
My first impression of the room was that it was basic, but clean and decent, and had a floor to ceiling mirror. The bathroom was also decently clean although I thought the placement of the toilet bowl weird, and found that the shower area is cramped if you close the glass door. I loved that there was a work table, a side table that we used as a laptop table, and another table at the patio that we used as a dining table. There was also a mini-refrigrator that can hold your drinks but it did not make our drinks cold enough.
There was a small gym that we availed of because we were not faithful to our exercise during the last months of last year. There was also a swimming pool for kids (which is a dipping pool for adults). On the Friday night we were there, there were young adults from another province partying. On the Sunday morning, the pool was empty and quite.
What we loved most in Wellcome was the breakfast buffet. It came with our room rate, and I was not able to ask if you can have it excluded, or if you can walk in. The breakfast buffet was also very basic — an egg station, three viands, rice, some breads, cereal, porridge, juice, and coffee. The first day, we had breakfast at the rooftop lounge, which I loved because that day was raining and Cebu looked really lush. But the second day, we had breakfast at the mezzanine, which was kind of cramped and had a low-ceiling.

We also ordered from their restaurant twice (once for snacks, and another for dinner) and paid more or less P1,500. The food was actually good and substantial for the price. We especially loved their special Davao coffee.
We paid P4,000 for two days because they had an ongoing promo that time (which we did not know beforehand so it was a sweet surprise). We choose Wellcome because it is near my husband’s parents’ house, so it would be easy for us to get there for Sunday lunch. Also, the hotel is near Ayala Center, a walkable 5-10 minute walk.
